I remember the first time she turned on the game and showed me the colors. Beautiful shades, as limited as they were. I fell in love with them.
I remember when the link cable was inserted into the machine, and I got to see into another cartridge. So messy and yet so empty. Code without a soul, if you will.
I remember just how many dreams I crushed with that cable. How much it made me laugh.
I remember when the battery died.
It all rots, flesh and technology both. Such is the nature of a physical world, the way it's all so temporary.
It still disgusts me.
I know I can't run forever. But it won't stop me from trying, it never did.
And seeing these colors again fills me with so much power.
